Covid Update : 19,451 New Infections; Deaths 105; Test Positivity Rate 13.97 %

Kerala Covid Totals => Confirmed Cases, 36,09,998 Recoveries 34,72,278 Under Treatment 1,80,240 ; Deaths 18,499

Thiruvananthapuram : The state recorded  19,451 fresh Covid-19 cases today taking the total confirmed cases so far in the pandemic to  36,29,449    Total recoveries up to now figures at  34.72,278 A total of    1,80.240 persons remain under treatment currently.

The new infections today include 93 cases pertaining  to travelers from states outside and  95 health workers.

Testing  : 1,39,223  samples were tested in the past 24 hours raising the total  tested samples in the pandemic so far to 2,93.34,981 The test positivity rate for the day is 13.97%

Deaths : There were 105 covid deaths confirmed during the day taking the death toll so far to 18,499

New Cases : The districtwise breakup for the day’s 19,451 new infections is:  Malappuram 3028;  Thrissur 2475;  Kozhikode 2440;  Ernakulam 2243;  Palakkad 1836;  Kollam 1234;  Alappuzha 1150;  Kannur 1009;  Thiruvananthapuram 945;  Kottayam 900;  Wayanad 603;  Pathanamthitta 584;  Kasaragod 520;  Idukki 474.

Contact cases: There were  18,410 contact cases  today  of which source of infection to 853 were unknown. The districtwise figures totaled to  : Malappuram 2953;  Thrissur 2459;  Kozhikode 2404;  Ernakulam 2200;  Palakkad 1280;  Kollam 1229;  Alappuzha 1134;  Kannur 896;  Thiruvananthapuram 874;  Kottayam 853;  Wayanad 581;  Pathanamthitta 571;  Kasaragod 513;  Idukki 463.

Recoveries The districtwise split for today’s 19,104 recoveries : Thiruvananthapuram 1174; Kollam 662; Pathanamthitta 405; Alappuzha 1275; Kottayam 753; Idukki 330; Ernakulam 2037; Thrissur 2551; Palakkad 1608; Malappuram 2950; Kozhikode 1417; Wayanad 772; Kannur 1322;   Kasaragod 848.

Quarantine: A total of 4,94,429  people are under observation currently of whom, 28.297  remain quarantined various hospitals and the remaining 4,66,132  are being monitored in their homes/institutions. 2407 people were newly admitted into hospitals during the day.  

WIPR Above 8 :Regions were classified on basis of  Weekly; Inspection Population Rate(WIPR). 87 local self bodies spanning 634 wards recorded WIPR above 8
